Leah Belford
Leah, is not only the owner of this amazing studio, she’s also the President of ATOD ( a world wide dance organisation), a fully qualified Dance Teacher and Examiner, and a loving wife and mother. Ever since Barrick Dance Centre opened its doors in 1995, she has been so dedicated to providing a safe, happy and loving environment for kids of all ages to dance. Leah cares about the little things, and encourages and cares for each and every child in the BDC Dance Family. When you walk into the studio she will always be your number one support team. We are so very lucky to have her.

Senior Teaching Staff:
Sacha O’Regan
Sacha is a passionate, dedicated and kind teacher. She teaches every class with expertise to ensure her students are receiving lessons to the upmost high standard. Sacha holds a multitude of qualifications including Certificate III in Business Administration, Licentiate Teaching Diploma – ATOD, Certificate IV in Dance Teaching and Management. As a foundation student of Barrick Dance Centre herself, Sacha is now flourishing in her role as a Senior Teacher. She truly believes in the core values that make Barrick Dance Centre great!
Sacha’s dedication to the students and families is an asset to her beautiful nature. She shares her ambitions and relishes in helping students develop and achieve theirs. She is a nurturing, compassionate person who believes in every one of BDC’s students. Sacha demonstrates confidence through her expertise of syllabus, movement and willingness to always better herself professionally. Most importantly, Sacha empowers her students through encouragement, support, opportunities and dedication.
Sacha is an incredibly valuable member of the Barrick Dance Centre Family.


Senior Teaching Staff:
Melissa Chora
Melissa is a dedicated and passionate teacher who’s love for the arts and dance in particular is paramount. Mel joined our family back in 2005 and has never looked back. Becoming a Senior Teacher and dedicating lots of her time and energy into making our studio what it is today. Her classes are full of fun and a positive environment in which all students are creating the best versions of themselves. Melissa is a Primary School teacher and also holds a Cert IV in Dance Teaching and Management and a Licentiate Diploma ATOD. Most recently adding a Certification in the Acrobatic Arts Syllabi, Mel is always educating herself to be as knowledgeable as she can be. Her beautiful soul and nurturing nature is true asset to our studio and we are so very lucky to have her.
Teaching Staff:
Meghann Pruss
Ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, contemporary, you name it, Miss Meghann has done it! Having been apart of the BDC family for 14 years; when she was young, she loved getting up on stage! Competing in the eisteddfod team here at BDC and also taking part in her class exams Miss Meghann has shown incredible dedication to dance. Did we mention she has a passion for all things Disney? She loves it all most as much as she loves her furbabies! Performing at Disney World twice with BDC on the USA trip and more recently living in Orlando working her dream job at the happiest place on earth!
Meghann has graduated from QUT with a Bachelor of Fine Arts majoring in Dance (with distinction!) and while she is heavily involved in the studio, she is currently completing her Masters in Primary Teaching. Along with her University achievements she is also a qualified dance teacher with ATOD as an associate member, holding her Certificate IV in dance teaching and management. Miss Meghann proves to be a wealth of knowledge when it comes to all things dance and performing. It is clear she loves what she does and loves sharing the passion of dance with everyone here at BDC!


Teaching Staff:
Lucy Hamer
Miss Lucy has been a member of the BDC family since 2010. Throughout her dancing journey she has progressed through the genres, ballet, jazz, hip hop and contemporary where she now takes her skills and passion to teacher students within our studio. Her loving, soft nature is reflected in her classes and her passion for perfection and skill level is such an asset to our team. Lucy is kind hearted and motivated who pushes herself and her students to be the best they can be.
Lucy is currently enrolled in the Degree in Creative Arts – Dance at QUT and will add a Dip Ed to her string of bows. Lucy’s holds a Cert IV in Dance Teaching and Management and will sit her Associate Diploma with ATOD in June. She is a key asset to our BDC family as she brings a unique and bubbly attitude helping our studio to grow.
Teaching Staff:
Tyla Coey
Tyla brings a special presence to the studio through her dedicated teaching. Having danced with BDC for 13 years, Tyla has progressed through the styles of ballet, jazz, contemporary, tap and hip hop. She has performed in the Performance Team for a number of years as well as travelling to USA in 2016 and 2019. This included performances in Walt Disney World, Universal Studios and workshops in New York City.
These experiences have given her a strong appreciation of dance that she reflects to her students each week. Graduating Victoria Point State High School in 2018 as an Arts Captain provided her with an insight into teaching younger students, which is when she knew she would love being a teacher at BDC. Tyla has recently completed the Certificate IV in Dance Teaching and Management and is currently a choreographer for the performance team at Victoria Point SHS. She enjoys sharing her knowledge with every student she encounters and assisting them in achieving their best standards.


Teaching Staff:
Mackenzie Clews
Mackenzie has a bubbly personality and brings a unique presence to the classroom. Starting dance at BDC in 2012, she’s progressed through the styles of Jazz, Ballet, HipHop and has also been apart of the performance team since 2012. Mackenzie has travelled to America with BDC in 2016, this included performances at Walt Disney World, Universal Studios and workshops in New York. Graduating from Alex Hills SHS with an OP 9 in 2017 as one of their dance mentors and choreographers, offered her an advantage when becoming a dance teacher at BDC.
She is now currently studying a Bachelor of Primary Education at Griffith University and works as a barista at a local cafe. Mackenzie has also recently completed the Certificate IV in Dance Teaching and Management. She is a dedicated teacher who loves working with kids and sharing her knowledge of dance and passion for performing with her students.
Administration Staff:
Tori Sloan
Miss Tori is our delightful Director of First Impressions and Director of Parties here at Barrick Dance Centre. Tori has worked at the studio for many years, providing all families with information, timetabling, uniforms and more and of course a smiling face every time they walk through the door. Tori’s beautiful and loving nature, is the perfect fit for our studio and is always willing to go the extra mile and help where she can. Our students love seeing her the second they walk through the door and she is so often greeted with a hug and a story about their day.
Tori also works as a Kindergarten teacher, giving her a natural loving and caring attitude towards every child that comes into the studio. She is always happy to chat to all families and is well equipped to answer any queries of concerns. Tori is also our Director of Parties and will see to it that all our party guests have the time of their lives and create memories that last forever.
